Anion Suppressor

Anion suppressor is a key component in an ion chromatograph, and it mainly has the following functions:

Reduce background conductivity: In ion chromatography, leachate usually has a higher conductivity, which affects the accuracy of the detection signal. The anion suppressor reduces the background conductivity of the leachate by converting the anions in the leachate into corresponding weak acids or water, making the detection signal of the anion being measured more easily and accurately measured, thereby improving the sensitivity and accuracy of the detection. For example, when analyzing common anions, the suppressor can convert the leachate of strong electrolytes into a weak conductivity substance, making the baseline more stable and the detection limit lower.

Improve detection sensitivity: The suppressor converts the measured anion into the corresponding acid, increasing its conductivity in the detection cell. Since ion chromatography detection is performed based on the migration of ions in the electric field and the change in conductivity, the increase in conductivity increases the signal of the ions to be measured, thereby improving the detection sensitivity and detecting lower concentrations of anions.

Eliminate interference: The suppressor can eliminate interference from some coexisting ions. In actual samples, there may be multiple ions. The conversion effect of the suppressor on the leachate and some ions in the sample can reduce the interference of other ions on the detection of target anion and improve the selectivity and accuracy of the analysis. For example, in complex samples containing multiple anions, the suppressor can make the separation and detection of target anions clearer, avoiding peak overlap or interference of other ions.

The suppressor's supporting power supply is displayed with four-digit digital display, with constant voltage and constant current automatically output, sufficient power, low ripple, stable current output, and continuous adjustable voltage. The fan speed can be adjusted automatically according to different load conditions. It has automatic protection function for full load output. Automatic protection can be started when there are overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, etc. Suitable for the power supply demand of Shenghan self-produced suppressors to replace other brands of suppressors.
